The release of EMI 1 has been accompanied by intense collaboration activities with all the major DCI players in Europe. The Service Level Agreement with EGI and 9 signed MoUs to date bear witness to this effort.
The relationship with PRACE is being formalized with discussions of a draft agreement on initial collaboration activities, and the ongoing work with WLCG is as strong as ever, with our members participating in its new Technical Evolution Working Groups.
On the Cloud front, EMI's own Virtualization and Cloud Task Force is an active member of EGI's Federated Clouds Task Force.
EMIs' vision and mission are part of a more general context of European and international collaborations. The interaction of relevant initiatives and the cross-fertilization of ideas are essential to achieve the proposed objectives
EMI has a specific role in the context of the Distributed Computing Infrastructures (DCIs), as provider of the core middleware services that power the system. As such, it is essential that the EMI middleware continue to serve this ecosystem and evolve in harmony with it.
The EMI collaboration plan is designed to facilitate this co-evolution by establishing and maintaining effective communication channels and providing specific collaboration tools.
