- Installation and configuration
- To install storm-backend-server, install its metapackage RPM: emi-storm-backend-server-mp
- To configure storm-backend-server use yaim on node se_storm_backend. A good explanation of the required YAIM variable is available in /opt/glite/yaim/examples/siteinfo/services/se_storm_backend
- If you configure other services with yaim on the same host always specify also se_storm_backend node

- Installation and configuration
- To install storm-gridftp-server, install its metapackage RPM: emi-storm-gridftp-server-mp
- To configure storm-gridftp-server use yaim on node se_storm_gridftp. A good explanation of the required YAIM variable is available in /opt/glite/yaim/examples/siteinfo/services/se_storm_gridftp
- The service needs to be installed on a machine on which storm file system is mounted.
StoRM-GridHTTPS-Server
- What's new
- First storm-gridhttps-server release.
- The storm gridhttps service is responsible to provide access to storm managed files via http and https protocol.
- It is able to manage plain requests and requests over SSL using an x509 certificate or an x509 certificate with VOMS extensions.
- For the requests providing a valid x509 certificate file access priviledges are verified in respect to the certificate owner and (if available) his FQANS.
- Installation and configuration
- To install storm-gridhttps-server install its metapackage RPM: emi-storm-gridhttps-mp
- To configure storm-gridhttps-server use yaim on node se_storm_gridhttps. A good explanation of the required YAIM variable is available in /opt/glite/yaim/examples/siteinfo/services/se_storm_gridhttps
- The service uses ports 8443 and (by default) 8080, so open them on your firewall.
- The service needs to be installed on a machine on which storm file system is mounted.
StoRM-SRM-Client

- To install storm-srm-client, install its metapackage RPM: emi-storm-srm-client-mp
Known Issues
- Known Installation Issues:
- Wrong paths for backend logrotate (/var/log/storm/storm-backend* intead of /opt/storm/backend/var/log/storm-backend*): GGUS #72683
- Wrong paths for backend cron script, similar to previous point.
- storm.properties is not correctly generated if it contains hand-made changes.
- yaim-storm does not create namespace.xml correctly for size due to the use of df.
- General Known Issues:
- Wrong protocols in lcg-gt do not give proper srm error, and fills the frontend logs: GGUS #72464. To be solved in the next release.
- The info system has problems (to be solved in the next release):
- Incorrectly sets the variables GlueServiceName and GlueServiceType. Fix on config_gip_glue2_storm and config_gip_storm located in /opt/glite/yaim/functions/local.
- Publishes GlueSAUsedOnlineSize and GlueSAStateUsedSpace as -1 during calculation of the spaces.
- If the info system is not corrected tests fail.
- While determining the size of a space token spaces are reported by the info system as -1. This is picked up as critical by GSTAT.
- The Frontend does not return client IP information due to gsoap library that needs IPv6 enabled: GGUS #72867
- The Backend uses du in case of Tape wrongly, publishing wrong size information.
- By default, if you install the emi.storm.gridhttps-mp package, StoRM will work until a reboot when it will stop working: GGUS #72845
- Two of the five EA sites have observed the Frontend crash with segmentation faults, this issues is reported and should be solved in the next release of this component: GGUS #71437
